POSSIBLE ERRORS AND FIXES:

Error #1 Root lost after rebooting the device

Fix: This will happen because your device’s bootloader is locked and the rooting process that was done by Kingo Root is a temporary root. To fix this error you need to unlock your boot loader. You can Google search about how to unlock bootloader of your respective device. Generally Sony, HTC and Motorola devices have locked bootloaders. Note that unlocking bootloader is a legal process or can be done officially.

Error #2 Rooting Failed with Kingo Root app

Fix: This will usually happen if your device has firmware version 5.1 or above or if you have locked bootloader. If you have higher android version you need to wait for the app to be updated which may support more devices.

Error #3 Google Play Store 491 error

Fix:

  1. Remove your Google account from settings.
  2. Open the SuperSU app and scroll down to bottom and tap on ‘clean’. Then it will show you few options. Click on ‘Reinstall’. This will remove SuperSU app from your device.
  3. Reboot your device and add your Google account in your device settings.
  4. Install SuperSU from Google Play Store again.
  5. Open your file explorer and navigate to root folder of your device. To open the root folder, your file explorer should be able to access root folder and it must have super user access. For this you can download Root explorer app from Play Store or if you have downloaded ES File Explorer already, it can also access root folder, you just need to enable it in settings. So navigate to root folder and navigate to: data/dalvik cache/ and delete everything in the folder ‘dalvik cache’.
  6. Reboot the device again, don’t worry it will take some time to reboot your device because it is rebuilding the dalvik data again.
  7. Following these steps will fix the Google Play Store 491 error.
